Alexander Cherkassky leads the Mass Cytometry/Spatial Tissue Imaging franchise of San Francisco’s Fluidigm from his hometown of Wayland, Massachusetts. In addition to overseeing the general business of this franchise as its chief administrator, he heads a team that manages a wide portfolio of products including instruments, software, and consumables. Alexander Cherkassky has overseen the addition of multiple products to the franchise’s approximate $60-million portfolio.
Before joining Fluidigm in 2018, Mr. Cherkassky directed mass spectrometry operations for two biotech and diagnostics companies with headquarters in Waltham, Massachusetts. He first began working as an organic laboratory supervisor with the Mitkem Corporation in Providence, Rhode Island.
Over the course of his career, Alexander Cherkassky has filed more than a dozen patents for innovative devices and modalities within the realms of biochemistry and biotechnology. To inform his administrative and research/development activities, he holds active membership in a number of industry organizations including the American Society for Mass Spectrometry and the Association of Public Health Laboratories.
